Packed with polyunsaturated fats and Vitamins A and C, Rosehips have been used as a skin remedy for thousands of years by the Egyptians, Mayans and Native Americans. Rosehip oil has been praised by many for its anti-ageing properties, and is said to reduce the appearance of wrinkles by boosting collagen levels and soothe dry, tired skin. This is why it is one of the main ingredients in our Facial oil.
As with most of the ingredients we source and use in our products, our Ceylon Cinnamon is fully certified by the Soil Association, so you can be sure that it's the real deal.
Where does Rosehip oil come from?
Our unrefined, certified organic Rosehip oil comes from Chile, where the Rosa canina grow in the mountain valleys of the southern Andes. It’s beautiful deep red colour comes from it’s ripe berries at the time of harvesting. The Rose canine fruit oil is cold pressed from the berries of the wild rose bush, in order to retain it’s many healing properties.
What are the skin benefits of organic Rosehip oil*?
Skin plumping and firming
Collagen is the tissue which gives our skin it’s plump elasticity. Rosehip oil is rich in vitamins C and A, which stimulate the formation of collagen. Because Vitamin A has small molecules, it is able to penetrate deeper layers of skin and therefore reduce the appearance of wrinkle. Applying vitamin C topically has been proven to be much more effective than taking it topically when it comes to skin health, as very little taken topically actually reaches our skin.
Fights free radicals
Rich in antioxidants, Rosehip oil helps to neutralise those pesky free radicals that come with age.
Repairs damaged skin
Rich in Essential Fatty Acids, Rosehip oil provides what our bodies can not produce on their own. This enables cells to regenerate, treating skin issues like eczema and psoriasis. It has also been said to reduce the appearance of scars and acne.
Penetrates deeper layers of skin
A ‘dry oil’, Rosehip oil penetrates deeper layers of skin than other, heavier oils, avoiding the ‘greasy’ look that is feared by so many with oily skin. For this reason, it can be used on all skin types - not just dry skin.
